Mesut Ozil quits Germany over ‘racism and disrespect

Mesut Ozil (29) is all set to quit from the German Football National Team, aggrieved at being targeted on the basis of racism at losing the World Cup, as revealed by him in his Instagram and Twitter account.

It all began in May when Mesut, who has Turkish roots, went ahead and posed for a photograph with the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.  As soon as the photograph went public, it immediately sparked prejudiced speculations whether his loyalty lay with the German team or not.

Being a player in the midfield position, Ozil is disappointed and angry with the German Football Federation (DFB), especially targeting the president Richard Grindel for not taking a stand for him and letting him bear the brunt alone.
